You need professional level underwater camera equipment that will survive the depths and not malfunction under high water pressure.

Before you buy an underwater camera, you always read the specifications of the camera to suit your needs. If you are a marine biologist, you may need a camera that can survive at low depths and withstand high water pressure. If you want to take underwater images at the beach, then you do not need a low depth underwater camera.

I find the Nikon underwater cameras are my favourite. They range from the small digital cameras to the professional level digital SLR(Single Lens Reflex). If you are at the beach and you want to take pictures of your family in the water, then you can use the little digital underwater camera.

If your family goes scuba diving, then you need to take a really good underwater camera that will survive the depths you are about to dive. Make sure you read the specifications before you dive, so that your camera does not malfunction due to the water pressure.
