Easy To Use HD Video Camera

When the first Flip camera came on the market, it was a genuine consumer-owned product, the response was great. Consumers loved the fact that they could finally own a simple, bare bones video capture system that was so small and convenient like the point and shoot digital cameras.

The designers kept to their simple design theory for their later models, and now their Flip Mino HD cameras are an improvement on their ideas.

They have managed to make the idea of shooting video, even HD video with a high definition video camera as easily as taking a picture. No longer do consumers need to lug bags full of camera accessories.

They do not need additional media, they do not have separate chargers and they need not worry about having the battery that was left out overnight. Everything is self contained.

The Flip Mino HD, has been improved and made even more appealing. Now anyone can shoot HD video with this HD video camera, without the need for a bag of accessories.

Better Home Audio And Theater Design Ideas

One thing television designers seem not to share with home theater designers is a recognition that the sound on a television show or a video is just as important as the picture.

Even on the most highly engineered high definition (HD) and plasma televisions, the exquisite picture is almost never matched by sound that is equally exquisite.

So unless you concentrate on both the visual and audio aspects of your home audio and theater setup, you will seriously shortchange yourself, and there will be something missing from your entertainment experience.

In your home audio and theater setup, make sure you pay attention to your speakers as well. Listen to many systems if possible, before ever committing to buying one. Subwoofers are the speakers that handle low frequencies, and may be the most important of all the speakers.

Yet you will want good tweeters too, which handle the higher frequencies. If you read as many home theater reviews as you can, you can start to get a feel for the kinds of speakers you'll need.

Not everybody recognizes that home audio speakers are just as important as the HD television itself. If you are listening to inferior sound accompanying that incredibly detailed and sharp large-screen picture, then you've got a second-rate home audio and theater setup, no matter how good the television is.

Your entertainment experience won't be nearly as good as it ought to be. So even if the whole business of finding the right speakers is confusing, in the end you'll find that it's worth the research to match excellent sound with superior visuals.

Finding Sites To Watch Videos Online

Watch videos online for entertainment and increase your skills with online courses. I like to visit online video sites like YouTube to watch funny videos and finding online courses for software I use on my computer.

I even watch videos on gardening, cooking and home improvement. If I need to know how to do a task around the home, I conduct a search for videos on the topic.

Some of the courses may be the complete online course for free, or it may include a couple of videos for free and then you have to run to the site to pay for the rest of the videos. This way the video creator can recoup some of the production costs.

I always like to search what is available on the video topic and then watch some of the free videos, read the offer for the rest of the videos on the website and decide if I wish to pay for the rest of the course.

If I can’t find what I need on YouTube, I enter the search topic on Google and find the videos I need on other sites. But whenever I like to watch videos, my first stop is YouTube.

I sometimes spend hours watching entertaining movie clips on YouTube. I love the ones where they pull some funny stunts, although I try to avoid watching videos where people or animals get hurt. Among the millions of videos, there are some trash videos, most are far better than the funniest home video shows on TV!

Subliminal Messages Leaving An Impression

James Vicary is famous for conducting a case study on subliminal messages whereby he flashed "eat popcorn and drink Coca-cola" across a screen while movie goers looked on. His findings were that this type of messaging caused an increase in sales of popcorn and soda.

Later, however, Vicary admitted that his study was made up. Though Vicary fudged his findings, other professionals have taken up the study of whether sublimated messaging has an affect on consumer spending.

If a subliminal message in advertisement is shown on television at a time when we are not using the full resources of our attention or our brain, then subliminal messages can be more easily understood.

Scientific teams plan to conduct further studies into the use of subliminal advertising and messages to determine just how effective it is on influencing buying habits. Bahrami also plans on do research to uncover how words affect the brain when they are presented in subliminal form.

Even though scientists have generally held the view that subliminal messaging remains unnoticed and therefore subliminal advertisements could not be effective, Baharmi's study indicates that these messages are actually registered by the brain.

Even when they are unaware, the human brain records subliminal messages. So does this mean that sublimated messages don't work and have never been successfully used in advertisements? No.

Subliminal Message Affecting Individual Behaviour

Advertisements are shown to grab your attention and compel you to purchase a product. A desire can be stimulated that only registers in your subconscious mind. A subliminal message is not always present in all advertising, and there is no way of discovering if an advertisement has a message concealed within it.

Studies have proven that such hidden messages have the ability to affect individual behaviors. In certain cases, sublimated messages have proven effective in enhancing memory. These messages can travel through a person's reasoning ability and move straight into their subconscious mind.

It can be said then that a subliminal message is a message that is delivered underneath the conscious into the subconscious. Sublimated messages are simply just visual or audio messages that are embedded into another medium so that they go unnoticed by the conscious mind.

The most powerful representation of ideas that appeals to the emotional and unconscious mind is thought to be through sublimated messaging. It is an unknowing response to a stimulus. Normal levels of thought are not enough to perceive such messages, as they are designed to seek out the subconscious mind.

Although keeping away from subliminal advertisements may not be possible, since they may pop up at any time, diverting the mind's attention to something else is perhaps the only way to keep the brain from storing a subliminal message.

There are laws that do restrict the use of these messages on television, radio and at movie theaters, yet these laws are not powerful enough to control the large advertising companies from producing such advertisements anyway.

Changing Habits With Subliminal Video

Subliminal messaging has raised its head time and again since the 1950s, as a method of getting people to change their habits, and today, with the advent of desktop video production, it appears everyone and their dog is producing some sort of a subliminal video product.

The big question is though, do they actually work or are they just so much wasted time and energy? A study conducted in the 1950s by James Vicary indicated that sublimated messages have an effect on people. Yet a few years later Vicary came forward and admitted he had never conducted the experiment.

All the subliminal video manufacturers who cite this experiment in their advertisements are either ignorant, naive or are deliberately trying to mislead. Not a good start for any company trying to sell subliminal products.

Alright, so the experiment on visual subliminals that everyone refers to was a complete sham; but what about any other experiments? Over the years, there have been a whole host of scientific experiments to uncover whether subliminal messaging actually works. To be perfectly honest, the results have been hit and miss regarding this whole concept.

With the right mental attitude and positive actions, you will achieve your goals far more quickly and with better results than with any subliminal video or audio program that is offered.

It's pretty self-evident, but don't believe all of the advertising hype behind the merchandise that you read. There are still a great many people out there selling magic elixirs to the unwary.

Influencing Your Subconscious With Subliminal Advertising

Have you ever wondered what subliminal messages are and if they are really real? They are positive affirmations employed just below the threshold of conscious awareness. They are used to influence subconscious behavior or program the subconscious mind.

This just means that a message that is deliberately shown to viewers at a subconscious level with the end result of trying to change their perspective, behavior, outlook or beliefs is actually a subliminal message in advertising. Subliminal advertising is information that bypasses your conscious reasoning and is absorbed into the subconscious mind.

A great example of sublimated messages can be seen in advertising. The messages used in a visual medium are always masked by other things in the picture that seem to misdirect your attention. If, however, the image or word is pointed out, it becomes obvious.

The same goes for audible subliminal advertising messages. The voice that is speaking the commands is indistinguishable from background music or sounds. If the masking sounds are removed and the recording is left at the same volume, then the subliminal messages are easy to hear.

Advertisers have known how to harness the power of subliminal messaging for decades. They can make a connection between their product and a pleasurable experience, feeling, belief or physical drive at a subconscious level through the use of subliminal advertising.

It is in the same way that advertisers use subliminal messages to try to influence your buying behaviors, and you too can use subliminal messages to influence your own behaviour. You can instill new belief systems and behaviors that are the similar to successful, confident people.

New Bonus Features With Blu Ray Movies

Sometimes consumers need to make sacrifices for the sake of new technology. When new DVD players first arrived, we welcomed the ability to skip to scenes more efficiently and we liked the extra sound options that included Dolby Digital 5.0 Surround.

Now with the advent of Blu ray movies disc technology, we're upgrading to receive bigger storage, bolder high-definition colors, 7.0 Surround Sound and better quality encoding. While the quality is the biggest selling feature offered to home theater enthusiasts, movie lovers get the added bonus of having more interactive features too.

Of course, not everyone feels these Blu ray movies bonus features are necessary. "I'm not sure if people really want games and trivia," admits Shoot Em Up producer Rober Meyer Burnett.

This feeling was echoed by The Digital Bits' moderator Bill Hunt, who said: "If you want a game, you can get a better game, and if you want a social experience, you can get a better social experience."

DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika says that the real benefit of owning the Blade Runner Blu ray over the Blade Runner DVD is "superior video and sound."

Perhaps you're wondering which 2009 releases are must-haves on Blu ray movies, given that this format allows for so many bonus features. Disney's "Bolt" is a great pick for those who watch movies made for kids.

John Travolta and Miley Cyrus sing together, production crew runs around in giant hamster balls and you can even "create the world of Bolt," choosing scenes, lighting and other components that were painstakingly assembled. "Transformers 2 - Revenge of the Fallen" is another excellent title to own on Blu ray, especially if you love action.

Fans can view Optimus Prime in "augmented reality" as a holographic image, view a special website that lets them piece together the Matrix of Leadership to resurrect Prime and they'll also be able to customize their own robot characters.

By completing these challenges, they'll be able to unlock an exclusive interview with director Michael Bay.

Action Against Movie Piracy

In August, the top 10 most coveted films in movie piracy world were Bruno, Inglorious Bastards, District 9, State of Play, The Hangover, Management, The Boat That Rocked, 17 Again, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Fighting.

Despite a lot of MPAA belly-aching that pirated copies of movies are severely cutting into their profit margins, the Box Office numbers suggest that people still really love going to the movies with their friends. For instance, Final Destination took in $28.3 million in its opening weekend; Inglorious Bastards - $19.6 million; and District 9 - $10.7 million.

Another overseas movie piracy proposal comes from Britain and France. In Europe, they're proposing mandates for Internet Service Providers to help fight illegal music downloads and movie downloads. Suspected online pirates will have their accounts slowed down and possibly even have their Internet access blocked.

"Digital piracy is a serious problem and a real threat to the U.K.'s creative industries," explains Geoff Taylor, chief executive of BPI, a group working to prevent illegal downloads of new music. "The solution to the piracy problem must be effective, proportionate and dissuasive."

Even though the U.S. Business Software Alliance supports imposing sanctions on those guilty of illegal downloads, it seems unlikely that such a heavy-handed strategy would be employed in America, just as the President and Vice President have announced efforts to expand broadband services to rural areas. Even so, it's an interesting suggestion to watch in the future.

Movie piracy continues to be a major headache for everyone in the entertainment industry. There seems to be little possibility of outsmarting every bootlegger around the world or stamping out every download of new movies.

Yet perhaps true movie lovers can be appealed to on a moral level. "I hear periodically, 'Well, Tom Cruise has enough money' or 'Tom Hanks has enough money,' " says John Malcolm director of worldwide anti-piracy operations for the Motion Picture Association of America.

"I would say to movie lovers, stick around and watch all of the credits. When you see the hundreds of names scrolling across the screen, those are the people whose talents contributed to making that movie, and they need to make a living."

Movie Trailer Makers

In 1916, Paramount became the first motion picture company to hire an in-house team of trailer makers. They saw great potential in splicing together the best scenes of their films to promote upcoming movies.

However, most movie houses outsourced the job to a group of NY ad executives at the National Screening Service. As a result, many trailers from the twenties through the sixties are very similar to one another.

In the sixties, more movie producers deviated from the structured NSS formula and sought to create their own divisions of trailers clips producers. Richard Kahn of Columbia House explained, "It's like the ebb and flow of the ocean: The whole question of whether someone should do these in-house or job them out varies with the attitudes of those in charge."

Some people wonder why we call it a movie "trailer," if it's shown before the movie. In the past, mini-films were shown before new movies to keep audiences entertained and trailers were shown at the conclusion of a film to encourage viewers to leave.

Over time, movie trailers became an independent art form that began to attract viewers as much as the movies themselves. Theater owners then began showcasing previews first to entice audiences to come back for more.

Many motion picture preview innovators surfaced over the years. Alfred Hitchcock previews were known for their wit and suspense, while Andrew J. Kuehn previews began a new standard of quick editing and thought-provoking narration.

You'll note that many of the trailers for new movies have extremely fast cutting between scenes. Andrew J. Kuehn explains, "When MTV came along... it recognized that the retention, the ability of the audience to observe, had grown faster because of television: It's not a matter of lack of attention span, it's a matter of how much information people can grasp at the same time."

He added, "In the process you accomplished two things: One, you can get more information across. Two, you can hide your flaws more easily." Thus, the modern trailer was born.

Finding Movie Trailers

With movie tickets edging past $10 in many markets, you may be wondering, "Should I run out and see this film, or should I just wait until it comes out on video?" This decision isn't always easy, you know. Going to the movies is a great activity for dates or for hanging out with friends, but you can't possibly see every new film to come out.

Watching trailers is the best way to know for sure which movies are worth investing in at full cost. Typically, you can catch trailers clips when you're at the movies seeing another flick, but there are many different websites where you can preview upcoming movies too.

At www.reelzchannel.com, you can check out trailers for movies that are "In Theaters Now," "Coming Soon To Theaters," "New On DVD," "New Movie Trailers," "Now On TV" or "Classic and Vintage Trailers."

The easy category organization makes it a breeze to scroll down and find new movies by looking at titles and DVD cover images. You'll also get clips so you can link to the previews in your blog, in an email or on your social networking page.

At the "Find a Movie" tab, you can look up movie theaters and times nearby, as well as retrieve maps on how to get there. You can search pay per view movies here too.

The website www.youtube.com also has trailers of upcoming movies. You can search by genre, alphabetical order, latest, most popular, in theaters, opening soon or studio releases.

Many people like YouTube because they can quickly and easily pull up all the official, as well as user-created trailers and extended previews available. They can post comments, save the videos in a list, rate them and get codes to share the videos with friends.

When most people think of "videos news," they think of YouYube, which is a great source for any sort of video. While you can't buy your tickets here, you can easily spend hours sifting through movie previews.

DVDs For Consumers

The motion picture distribution industry may very well be in its death throes. Blockbuster posted a net loss of $36.9 million last quarter, with a 22% drop in sales. Initially they were outmatched by Netflix, which allowed consumers the ability to rent a video from their computers and either watch movies online or have them shipped to their home the next day.

The post office loved this idea because the program kept their business churning, at a time when they were seeing enormous losses. Not to be outdone, Blockbuster quickly set up their own version of Netflix with a service called "Blockbuster Online," which got rid of late fees and also allowed users the added convenience of being able to turn their movies in at the store if they so desired.

Now DVDs are renting like hot cakes from red kiosks that can be found in grocery and convenience stores and movie giants are seething.

In response to a relatively dismal quarter, posting just a $1.02 billion profit, Blockbuster has decided to make some changes. They're on-board with the motion picture companies' idea to delay cheap rentals for 30 days after films are released on DVD. After all, Blockbuster does sell DVDs, as well as rent them.

They're also planning to expand their popular DVD-by-mail service to rival that of Netflix's and deploy 2,500 DVD rental kiosks like Redbox has. (Although, Redbox kiosks will grow to nearly 22,000 by the year's end!) It seems that Blockbuster is always one step behind its competitors, which may be a sign that the aging giant will soon be extinct.

There may be other ways to work with a "window" of opportunity for DVDs. Sony, for instance, is working on a pay-per-view movie service called "Bravia TV," which would allow consumers to get movies instantly beamed to their television set just after theater releases but before rental releases.

While consumer demand is encouraging more films to be delivered in a quick, convenient method, there are several problems with this business model. For one, not all TV sets are equipped with the technology to handle this new ordering method.

Secondly, how many Americans are willing to spend $40 to see a movie, when they could just wait another month and spend $5 to rent it or buy it immediately for $20?

Keeping Tabs With A Digital Baby Monitor

The digital baby monitor is a marvelous invention that allows parents to keep tabs on their crib-side baby, while watching TV, cooking, gardening, finishing chores or simply relaxing.

The drawback of the old analog baby monitors is that they are often prone to interference from household appliances, the neighbors' baby monitors, microwaves, radio signals and ambient traffic noise.

In some cases, the neighbors may even hear your baby's frequency! In areas that aren't densely populated, an analog monitoring system may work just fine, but for everyone else, digital baby monitors are the way to go.

Parents who are very concerned about security should consider a digital baby monitor, rather than analog. It's possible that neighbors who are also using the same baby monitor system will be able to hear your infant's coos and cries.

It's not that your baby is likely to be endangered by this, but that sort of invasiveness is creepy and disconcerting to a number of people. Secondly, you should consider a digital baby monitor if you live in a busy neighborhood where a lot is going on.

Cordless phones, TV signals, wireless internet signals, radio broadcasts, microwaves and even passing traffic can all cause exorbitant amounts of static to come through your monitor, which will make the whole system more trouble than it's worth.

A digital baby monitor makes a great baby shower gift for an expectant mother. For less than $100, you can find a pretty decent baby monitoring system that gets the job done. The parents will be able to go throughout the house and finish chores or relax, while knowing the baby is sleeping soundly.

The worst thing for new parents is not knowing how long the baby has been screaming for them because they were in another part of the house, out of earshot. Digital, as well as video baby monitors offer freedom, security and comfort, while providing the baby with the parental attentiveness he or she needs for a happy development.

Better Features For Your Video Baby Monitor

There are many features to consider when picking out a video baby monitor. Can you control the screen brightness? Can you pan or zoom in, remotely? Is there black & white image night vision to let you see in the dark? Are there battery saving features?

Is voice-activated video available? Can you use rechargeable batteries, as well as an AC adapter? How many parent units does the infant monitor come with? Here is a run-down of some of the top-selling video baby monitors on the market.

The MobiCam Color video baby monitor retails for $179, but can be found on Amazon for just $117. This price is surprisingly low for a high-end, feature-laden video infant monitor. You'll be able to use night-vision to view your baby's status even in the dark and hook up the receiver to the television or computer to see the bigger picture.

The units are lightweight and portable, coming with belt clips, hanging loops and table stands. The sound quality is superb, with no cordless phone interference as well, making it a top choice.

Critics argue that baby monitors with video capabilities are over-priced and unnecessary. Technically, you could buy an audio baby monitor that has a "flashing light" mode for when you don't want to be frightened by a sudden baby shriek. The louder your baby is yelling, the more lights light up.

You don't need to see your baby's flushed red face and tonsils to know when he or she is yelling. Yet, other mothers say they just couldn't live without a video baby monitor, since it lets them peek into so many rare moments, without disturbing the baby's sleep or quiet time.

Keeping Your Peace Of Mind With A Wireless Video Baby Monitor

Most consumers admit in their baby monitor reviews that they initially scoffed at the idea of spying on their babies with video monitors. At first, it just seemed excessive, as who needs to see every yawn, gurgle, giggle or sour-puss scream anyway?

Yet, often, an expectant mother gets a video monitor at a baby shower or the tech-geek spouse convinces the frugal spouse that this would be a cool idea. Unsurprisingly, even the most reticent consumers instantly became hooked to the concept of having a wireless video baby monitor around the house.

Another feature to consider for your wireless video baby monitor device is how many of each unit you'll need. For instance, a standard baby monitor system will come with one camera and one screen.

However, some systems offer an optional two-parent handheld unit, a video screen and a handheld unit, or multiple cameras for watching more than one room and baby at a time. For some people, a more advanced system might be the best fit.

A wireless video baby monitor is an excellent way to keep tabs on your baby. Some parents revel in the joys of parenthood and love to watch their baby chatter in the crib, laugh, giggle or call for mommy and daddy.

After all, these quiet moments can be an ideal time to capture some great footage for a family video! Other parents like the ability to switch on the screen and see if their baby is awake yet, so they don't have to open the door and disturb the baby's slumber.

Additionally, these wireless baby monitors are great for babies with colds, colicky kids, premature babies, handicapped children or for a number of other situations where vigilance is crucial.

First, you should always make sure that you act responsibly while using a free web cam. Keep personal information away from the prying eye of the lens. Web cam chat rooms will always have a few unscrupulous characters who would wish to lure private information from you.

Plenty Of Video Sites To Watch Music Videos Online

Watch music videos on MTV and online, like YouTube and MySpace, can provide a wide variety of music to cater for many tastes. You can watch classic hits from the 50’s and 60’s to modern hip hop. You can even watch a conductor with an orchestra go through the prehistoric classics, including the times of Beethoven and Mozart. Many types of music to suit many musical tastes.

These days, you can choose to watch videos online or on your iPod. You can watch emerging talent on YouTube, like a young band trying to get recognition and a recording contract.

You can visit sites like YouTube and Myspace and see plenty of music videos. A lot of the artists appearing on these online videos don’t even have a recording contract, they just create their music and put it online as a music video. There are some bands that do not want a recording contract, as they feel they lose some control of their music, so they only publicize their music online.

There are artists who want to demonstrate their talents online to get a recording contract, so they hope recording companies will watch music videos and recognize their talent and offer a recording contract. This is why many unrecorded artists are on YouTube, MySpace and other video sites.

When I go to YouTube every now and then, I like to watch some of the emerging talent that is available. Some of these artists are really good, although some are shocking, but it may be a matter of taste. Although tuning your musical instrument and singing in tune should not be a matter of taste.

These days, rather than watching dull crime shows on tv or out of date music shows on cable, it is far more entertaining to watch music videos online.
